Howdy from Lake Conroe! The Crappie on Conroe are biting;Took a U-Turn and headed down south.....Went to a reliable spot in Galveston and gave it a try.Threw the old standbys:Spoon,Assasins, even threw some Gulp!Tails and caught 1 schoolie under 15 inches.I could see those trout nailing baby mullet....I was fortunate that I brought a small box full of crappie jigs....Tied a 1/16oz.Blue/chart/orange head with a Albino "Big Bite Baits" Panfish Minnow....Caught over 15-10 were keepers with this 1 at 22inches!Goes to show-MATCH THE HATCH!!

Nice job. I've been using panfish assassins/sassy shads for a few years for catching specks under the lights at night. I like to make a homemade speck rig using 2 1/16 oz jig heads and pick your color. Works amazingly well. Favorite color last year was pumpkinseed/pearl.
