Hey guys, I have been reading like crazy on here getting tips and such and love it. I have a question or two about the Sea Isle area. The wife and I are heading down there to stay for a week right on one of the canals and are taking our twin 18 year old boys and a couple of their friends. They all want to fish and I was wondering if the canals are any good? The house we are staying in has a covered fishing deck with underwater lighting. I don't really know what to use there such as artificials, live or dead bait, top, suspended, etc.

We are planning on fishing the surf as well, and San Luis pass too. I would like to wade in the bay and was thinking of finding a place behind sea Isle to wade. Also, I love bowfishing and would like to stick some fish. With the exception of flounder, what else can I shoot legally.

Any help is appreciated in advance, thanks.

Medic

I forgot to add, July is when we are going.

I would think any which are not gamefish can be taken with a bow, BUT WHY MISS THE FIGHT ON A ROD??

Sometimes the fight on the string can be just as tough. Lot of fun when looking for a different way to entertain yourself. Rays might be really fun.

What do you have to do to eat a stingray? I heard people punch out holes and eat those. I don't if someone was messing with me though.

Fillet the wings and cook like scallops. If your "scallops" must be round cut with round cookie cutter.

Cool, I will have to try that. So any info on the possibles as far as fishing in the canals? I am told that at night with the lights, the trout might be good. I don't know anything about fishing on the coast with the exception of what I have picked up by trolling here.

All depends on what part of the canal your on. if there is water movement it might be good, if your on one that is a dead end it could be full of hard heads. but you could get lucky.
