HI all new member to the forum. I just moved back to Texas after living in California for over 20 years. Now that I'm back I'm looking for fishing holes in and around Waller.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Waller is awesome fishing. I live in cypress. Start off in neighborhood ponds, ask permission to fish stock ponds, golf courses ect.

houston oaks, i have fished it a bunch of times and caught good fish.. Start looking around for cattle ponds in your area and then ask permission and be very professional about it.

There used to be 2 nice lakes on the other side of 290 from Hot wells. I think there used to be a little Chevy dealership where I would turn in. Been years since I had been there but I used to catch them good. There is also some really nice size tanks right off Katy-Hockley on the good side of 529 to you if you can get permission. Google earth or something like that is a good place to start. My brother lives up in College Station and has been using it to find lots of ponds he didn't know about with lots of success. If you were closer to 290 and the beltway, I would have more for ya even thou most of my lakes are now parking lots, there are still some that are hiding in the woods.

I'd be more prone to fish ponds and such, but after pulling a 150 lb snapping turtle out of Cypress Creek, I'll stick to Lake Conroe....

hopefully this doesn't come off as a dumb question, but how does one go about asking for permission to fish on private property. I've seen tons of ponds between hockley, waller and hempstead but yet to have driven up and approached the owners about potentially fishing their pond.

Skippy I live in Cypress. Ive fished houston national golf course and have managed to catch a few small bass. Do you have any leads on any other spots in or around cypress?
