Lake of the Ozarks is fishing abit slower than normal but I did manage 8 bites in one area and caught a few to check their size and they were either 14 1/2 or 3-3.5lbs. The minimum limit here is 15" on largemouths and 12" on spots. I did also catch a healthy 2 3/4-3lb spot in a textbook location, which is promising for a quick limit. The weather stunk today but the forecast is looking promising up until after we have completed the tourney which is this Thursday-Saturday, we have a nice warming trend comming in and with a water temp of an average of 42-43 it will only help things out. All my fish came "around" docks due to the cloud cover the fish were "wondering" abit, when that sun comes out with a touch of wind you can start calling bites before your cast, it really positions them well but I'm not sure if it will with this being the pre pre spawn and such cold water, we shall see. I generally catch them skipping a small tube with an exposed hook way under the docks in the shaded areas but that's best during the summer and fall.. All in all I'm happy with my first day on the water and hope to expand on my pattern in at least 6more spots in the next 4days, this will have me catching just a few in each area so i can manage them and not burn them up in one day. I feel as that 15-16lbs a day will make the top 10 so I'm looking good just have to go out and hit it hard and not stick more than absolutely need be.

untill tomorrow, tight lines and you all enjoy your weekend

good luck to you. I'm curious...what's the reason for 'exposed' hook when skipping a tube vs. unexposed. is there an advantage...or just your preferance?

i work the tube on a light spinning rod like a jerk bait and they will come up and grab it from behind and before you know it ur setting the hook and getting good penetration bc of the cadence. it will boost the hook up ratio from 60 to 99%

Good Luck...A buddy and I have a week long trip up there first of May. If you don't mind I might PM you sometime before we go when you are not so tied up and busy and ask for some advice...Thank you.
