I personally missed out on the college fishing deal. But i can promise you it wont be hard to fish and spend time on school work.

The problem you are going to run into is all the girls who daddys turned them loose. They seemed to make my grades go down tremendously.

Not hard to get on A&M's team. Anybody thats a student at A&M can be part of our club "Aggie Anglers". We do 4 tourneys a semester just between our club members and the guys that finish in the top get to go on and fish the national championship and flw events. We've got around 35-40 members and are always lookin for more competition within the club so if A&m's your choice then check us out.

I don't have the girl problem, guess I am fortunate that god gave me an ugly mug so I could focus on fishing.....It is what you make it...I spend so much time fishing, I have no doubt throughout the years it caused my grades to slant a bit, but I wouldn't trade it for the world..Some schools have very competetive teams, others not so much...

You need to get your priorities straight. Fishing and school lol. No time for girls. Seriously it's easy to get on the team. We don't have that many people on our and most of us fish the clubs and th flw tour. I'm in accounting and its a lot of work but still try to go fishing on the weekends. Now Brandon he goes when ever he can and is the grad program sort of lol.

no problems with focusing for me, i fish during the week when i have time, and there are only a few tournaments during the year that u have to worry about...so as far as good clubs to join, tis is a good one since there are no "required practice" and b.s. like that...also, to get on the team all u have to do is sign up and pay ur dues.....

Its easy to be a part of the Tech team. All you have to do is have a boat or have a partner who has a boat. If you have any specific questions you can pm me.

It depends alot on your degree IMO, less intense degrees allow for more fishing time. Im on the Tarleton team but I will be the first to admit on here that my fishing def suffers because of my degree. Of course if I had it my way I would fish everyday. But since my parents are paying for school I owe it to them to get my degree while im here.

Oh and this website will hurt your school more than anything... it is way easier to sit on here than study for class!

I would look and see the quality of anglers each school has and what degree you want and what employers think of that degree. When I was at Baylor I worked, fished and was in the business school. It wasn't easy. Unless you can wing the tournament (I can't) your are going to have to go practice to even hang in there. Practice = lots of money and time. Also you need to look at the where you want your fishing to go. For example if you went to Texas A&M they have 30 plus guys and some of them are real good. So you are going to have to beat those guys out to even to get a shot to go to any of the big championships. Those tournaments are where you can make a name for yourself and help you in the future. So it all really depends on what school is the best fit for you. Do your research on each school.

My opinion is that it would be alot easier to do homework and fish then do a 9-5 and fish take advantage of all of it while you can.

I dont know if it was mentioned above, but as a college angler, my only recomendation is to go to the college that is best for your major and future career. It is very easy to start a college fishing club if where you go doesnt offer one.

A&M has one of the biggest bass fishing teams in the country and we are really competitive. It makes for a better tournament when we are actually competing against 15-20 other boats!
