Looks to be a very nice weekend after our first relatively warm week. I live near Austin and just recently bought a bass boat. Wanting to take the family fishing, but not the best lake fisherman in the world. Which central Texas lake would you pick to fish this weekend and how would you suggest to fish it? I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Bastrop close to you and easy to fish just find the grass use a fluke first thing then a c-rig brush hog after that and a wackey work have fun.

+1 for Bastrop. Make sure you hit the lake either in the dawn or evening to get the topwater bite.

been crankin 'em up in about 15 feet outside edges of grass. Try the discharge canal early if they are generating...they're schooling in that area and chasing shad onto the flats. Carolina rig with something green if all else fails...if the wind is up just find a place to blow along with it dragging the rig. Where there's grass, there are fish.
