Water Temp 52-59 (Depending on location)

Clarity: Stained to Muddy

Wind: SE 5-10

The shallow bite has really seemed to have taken off with the warmer temps we are experiencing. There are alot of fish being caught along the banks and in spawing areas. Look for this to continue and this bite to excel as we will be seeing more fish move into these areas as the spawning season progresses. Spinnerbaits and weightless Senko's are producing fish up to 7lbs along these areas.

Staging areas are producing the better quality fish at this time. Grass points and guts in 6-12' are holding good numbers of quality fish. Red Rat-L-Traps and 1/2oz Carolina Rigs topped with Ring Fries and Lizards fished around these areas can produce some real monsters this time of year. Getting off the bank and finding these locations are the best way to catch a big one at this time.

As we progress into the spawn, more and more fish will begin to move shallow and do there thing . Look for protected NW banks to see these movements first and then move down the lake as the spawn progresses. If the rains hold off and we still have some clear water on the south end of the lake, there should still be some sight fishin that can be done. This is a fun way to catch em' and lets hope the rain holds off so we can experience some. With the new regulations imposed by the state, we are going to see some real lunkers come out of Lake Nacogdoches. There have already been three fish over 12lbs caught this year (that I know of), and I am predicting to see alot more and more then likely another sharelunker.

Now is the time to come to Lake Nacogdoches. We have been catching 10-20 fish a trip and have yet to have a day where we did not catch a 7lb fish, or better! This is an exciting time of year, and if we get some more warm nights, expect this type of action to continue!

Hope this helps!
