Hey anyone ever go fish this pond after they stock it? Are kids only allowed to fish it? Also, what would I use to catch some trout out of a pond. I know they had thier fishing derby today, which is only open to kids and a parent. But after the derby can anyone fish it??

PS does anyone know if trout is good to eat?

Use live worms to see if anything carnivorous is in a pond. Be merciful to the turtles.

When I fished the White River for trout when we weren't throwing flies we would tie on a Rapala #7 Original Floater and tear them up with that. I bass fish so the hardest part for me was not setting the hook. I probably missed 15 hits before I calmed down and just let them set it themselves.

Anyone can fish the pond at Bear Creek including adults, you only need a Texas fishing license. I've never been asked to show mine but I wouldn't chance it. There's also a nice pond on the opposite side of 377 near the baseball fields off of Bear Creek parkway. I do alot of fishing there in the Sping and Summer, caught some very nice size perch there. It has a good sized concrete fishing pier.

Trout are delicious!!
