BE CAREFUL tho!!!
by the run way @ night time you can catch crappie and cats and even alligator gar if you tie off and use goldfish and dead shad. by the dam if you stay west you can see were there is a old boat house you can also go there and catch crappie and bass and cats. I have not caught nor tried to catch buffalo or carp. i have seen 18 lb bass come out of that lake and mounted on walls!!! I am not fibbing nor telling fishing stories. my biggest bass was caught by the golf course which was 13.8 like i said mt creek lake has a lot of potential just be very careful and do not go there in the heats of the summer. the Exxon power plant uses the water to cool the turbine generators and that lake will get to 90+ degrees and its hard to keep your motor cool on the boat and hard to catch fish cuz they're constantly moving or in the deep water by the damn and they aren't hungry. spinner baits and fluke worms work well during the spring @ the runway as well. i still fish the golf course when i get the chance when i come home to visit every once in awhile. i have seen people eat fish out of there and talked to old ladies that say they have eaten the fish out of the golf course and lake for 40 years. the golf course is connected to the lake as well so they are supposedly contaminated too.

You know where the jet is? And where do u recommend fishing?

The jet is in the south end of lake. south of toll bridge, toward the golf course side. Been years since I was on the lake used to run trotlines with my dad out there. Caught lots of crappie out ther in the cat tails. Not been there since fish consumption ban. Would go since a mainly cpr my fish. Catch ,photo, and release. If the land is low it might be seen from the bridge.

I grew up fishing on Mountain Creek Lake. As did my school-mates. If we got bored as teenagers the boredom didn't last long because we had the lake. Not to mention as we had girlfriend's from time to time we also used it as the local make-out spot too lol! Anyway I agree with you about the lake but it saddens me that TP&W didn't monitor it more closely to prevent the contamination it now suffers from. My friend's and me alway's caught our limit. The Sandies were strong on the bite year round at the tip of the channel.
