Man the sheepshead in my sig was caught at some apartment...i cant remember where it was or the name, but it has a retaining wall and some benches and lights set up. Maybe theres alot of apts with that setup, i dunno i don't want to high jack this thread just trying to help u out. Thats a black drum in yer pic not a sheepshead. sheepie black drum notice the fin difference? and sheepshead have sheep looking teeth, black drum don't.

Torch,
My wife and I and fishing buddies fish all along the crystal beach area. We too are from Lufin.
Rollover Pass is a great place to wade, surf fish, and bank fish. Always great results there for lots of reds, specs, and flounder when the bitng is good, black drum, croakers, and sheep head. The water temps are cool now but are starting to warm up. Good temps like 68 degrees and up are a good sign when fish start biting good. Also, tide movment!! The more tide movements you have the better the reults due to more movement of bait in the water. For example, the weekend of April 9, which is in the next two weeks, there will be a 4 tide movement instead of the normal 2 tide. These two factors, tides and temps are good to know for better fishing results. I know for sure that Ill be there that weekend. Fishing almanac also supports the fact that the fishing wil be good that weekend.
There's also some other places along crystal beach that are very productive. One is at the bolivar flats on the nothend jetty side. Lots and lots of flats out there to wade BUT need to be careful always!!!! Some of them sand bars can get as high as your ankles and then get up to you chest. There too you can use topwaters in early in the morning and then later in afternoon you can use norton sand eels or live bait like small croakers, finger mullet of live shrimo on the popping cork. DOA,s are very good to use as well as gulp shrimp. Oh and by the way, There are sharks there off the bolivar flats. They dont mess wiht you but heads up though. Always good to have a fishing buddy when you wade fish!!!!!!
Also, there some flats by the ferry. There is great fishing there for flounder there when the flunder run is going. Of which it should start again soon when the water starts to warming up above 68 degrees.
Night fishing can be GREAT is you have the equipment to do so. IT is a BLAST!!! Night fishin you cn use a 1000 watt narrow ban light and an elctric generator and to attract the smaller fish and there you can use the popping cork with live shrimp and there you can most definitely catch you some very nice specs.
There ya go, hope this helps and tight lines to ya.

to really tell the difference between a sheepshead and a drum put your finger in its mouth . if the finger comes back all mangled up and broke its a sheepshead !!!! :))
