It all depends on what type of fishing you want to do.

Artificials or live bait?

Drift fishing from a boat, wade fishing, jetty fishing, pier fishing?

I prefer wade fishing. And West Bay and East Bay offers excellent wade fishing.

Head toward the west end and youl will see two small lighthous lookin things that say pointe west on them on the right side. Pull in there follow the road and stay on the left side. there are some condo things there with noone in them. If you have 4x4 you can get to the water if not stay on the concrete and walk. I haven't fished it in over a month or two cause I took my fishin stuff home durin christmas break and haven't went and got them yet. the girlfriend and i got some pretty nice ones when we were goin though. Oh have alot of bug spray the mosquitos are horrible there. Pm if you need any thing else

Drive to the end of Sportsman road and walk in there. There is a gut that runs along the shoreline there about 50 yards out. Fish the drop off or the edges of clear/dirty water and wear bright colors (lots of boats in the area). That part of West bay was full of trout last Saturday, mostly throwbacks, but you can probably pull a few keepers out of there. 51 series Mirrolures were working pretty good and soft plastics. Good luck.

The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.

does anyone know of any prime areas to get into some sheepshead right now? I'm planning on going to galveston or freeport to try my luck. I read in the reports that fishing the jetty at west bay is producing....where tha heck is there a jetty at west bay??

Is there a place I can fish around there? Or is it a private area?
