Headed out to Bastrop after a late start yesterday morning, got stuck in traffic around an accident, didn't get on the water until almost 10 am. Started playing around with the new down imaging loaded on my HB. Got set up to run spots that have produced fish lately. About 15 minutes into it, picked a decent channel about 4 pounds. Wind was first one direction, then it would switch around and be totally different. Had a heck of a time keeping on a straight run on the creek channels. About 1 pm the wind quit, back to trolling motor drift. Worked from the dam toward the north shore, each time I'd hit a flat area in 40+ feet of water, I picked up fish. Ended the day with 6 channels, total of 34 pounds. Had 2 fish that came close to 7 pounds. They seemed to like shad heads and cut buffalo that had been soaked in Juiced Up Baits, "Kat Juice". Was off the water and back home by 5 pm.
