I was looking for the original posting to update, but couldn't find it. I hope nobody minds me starting a new one.
I received a personal call from the district manager (Theresa)of the tire, lube, express division for Wal Mart in regards to the warranty on the group 27 and 29 Everstart Marine MAXX deep cycle battery. She said the company is reevaluating the warranty on these batteries at this time. The warranty was pulled on them about eight months ago and it has something to do with a purchasing agreement they have with Johnson Controls, the maker of the battery out of Milwaukee, WI. For now the battery will still be sold without any warranty, so even though it appears to be a good designed battery...buyer beware for now, since when you buy it it's yours...no warranty-nada-zilch-zippo.

Yeah I went to get one yesterday and she said no warranty, so I went to Academy. But they didn't have a MAXX sized battery.

I think the post you were looking for is in "Boats and Motors"

The manager of the local Walmart told me 2 times now that the warranty is still the same as allways. He even showed me the book that outlines the details. I will atempt to get a copy and post it. Seems that this claim is spotty. My WM store is not changing anything

fish I'll keep everyone updated on this as soon as I hear back from the district manager regarding the future policy change to re-instate the warranty. For now...no warranty though on the group 27 or 29 battery. The group 24 Everstart marine battery will still have a warranty. However, that is primarily just the starting battery and not the deep cycle.

That would be awesome....if you can get a copy, please post it. Like I said earlier though, the group 24 will have a warranty, but not the group 27 or 29 MAXX deep cycles. Bentonville followed up as well saying the response from their district manager was correct; no warranty on the Everstart Marine MAXX group 27 or group 29 battery is presently being given. As mentioned, they hope to have this changed as early as spring 2010. If I hear back again from the DM of Wal Mart tire lube express, I'll post it right away.

If your receipt showed a warranty and/or it shows warranty information on the battery case...then I would say yes, you have a warranty.

Everstart Marine MAXX batteries are only offered through Wal Mart. Made by Johnson Controls out of Milwaukee Wisconsin. Academy will offer the group (size) 27, 29, or 31 Exide Stowaway...just check the date on the case to make sure it hasn't been sitting on the shelf for a year. Also make sure your battery space can accomedate the larger 29 or 31 battery.
