I am new to the fishing scene and the other day I saw a TV fishing show that was using a PVC pipe for a jug line float. Does anyone have any information on how to fix these up.

cut your pvc about 20 inches long pool noodles about a foot long. slip pool noodles onto 1/2 or 3/4 inch pvc pipe, depends on hole in pool noodle. some put weights or sand in them to alert you to a bite. cap the ends. make sure they are white and labeled if your in texas. screw an eyebolt in the end cap attach your line. go fishin. just please remove your juglines when your thru. good luck

I have seen PVC used as floats before and i do not like them. They do not store as easy as noodles and you have a hard time keeping the line wraped up on them when not in use. To each their own but I do not like PVC as floats.

If you build these kind of flagging jugs, be sure to pit a small scrap of foam inside the pipe to cussion the slap of the weight, otherwise it may knock the cap off when it flags. I use a 1/2" long piece of foam. Also use white foam, Baker rod , or wrap in white Duct tape to make them Tx. legal.

try this link jug fishing .net I also do not like these types. I fish allot with jugs, I use a 1 gal. windshield washer fluid (very thick plastic) jug that is white (Make sure you write your name and ph. # and address on the jug!!) and use caulk inside the the screw on cap for a good seal, a small concrete weight ( I use a small plastic coffee can as a form and an eye hook set in the concrete) on the bottom, shape is key to wrap the string around when pulling them out. I also only use 5 hooks per line, on 1' liters. Play with the location of your hooks vertically, cats don't just feed off the bottom. I use 8-0 hooks (I sharpen them every week).I ck the depth and add 2' to that and make up the lines to use in that location. I use shad and perch for bait. When you use perch scale one side and slice the belly, hook through the back behind the top fin. I use swivels at the top and bottom of each line, cats will get on the hook and spin and roll. I have lost many even with swivels. I can take pics of my set up and post them for you if you need. I hope this helps! Good Luck

I made a few by cutting PVC to 12", pool noodle to 10", then put PVC through the noodle, cap both ends (using primer and PVC cement) and wrap in white tape. I've only tried them once so far, but they seem to work fine.

I put five of the noodles together and was very successful. I like it when they hit the bait and stand the noodle on end.
