Hey Guys,
I've been kicking around the idea of using braid to fluorocarbon for some applications. My question is which knot is the best for both castability and strength? I've looked around a lot and gotten many different answers.
What's your opinion?
thanks

Probably the three most common ones are the Surgeon knot, the double uni, and the Albright. Some use a blood knot also.
I mostly use the double uni knot.

I use a trilene knot. Do not use a blood knot, it will slip on braid and break on floro.

how would you tie a trilene knot when trying braid to fluro? Like the other have said above I use the double uni knot and it works great and is very easy and fast I use a trilene knot. Do not use a blood knot, it will slip on braid and break on floro.

Use a double uni and dap it with some loons knot glue. Make sure you get good flouro like p-line or sagaur invis x. Vanish absolutly sucks, do not buy that [censored]

I throw braid almost exclusively. When I tie on a leader i use seagar invisx leader material, holds up a little longer than reg fluro. I tie a uni-uni and dont use glue and have never had one slip.
You do have to take it a little easier on the hookset with the leader. The splice is the weakest point in the rig, so if cross some eyes on hooksets, you might want to loosen your drag and possibly a lighter action rod.
We use a lot of leaders on saltwater and never have a problem. I have all but stopped using leaders in freshwater though. Using stiffer rods I have broke off at the splice. I haven't noticed a difference in the amount of hookups in straight braid and when i use leaders. But then again, I'm usually fishing dirtier water lakes. Good luck with it!

The double uni is the way to go. Be sure and wet the knot before sinching it down. If you scald the mono or floro it will definitely weaken the knot. Good luck, i have started using this alot and have been pretty satisfied. However, on Fork, you will get your heart broke every once in a while for not just using braid.

After trying damn near all of 'em, the double uni is the only way to go IMO.
