Just went out to South Lakes Park in Denton a couple hours ago for the trout. The TPWD website said they would be stocking them on the 2nd and every other week after. They have not stocked them yet. I called and the person at Parks and recreation said they didn't know exactly when they would be stocked but expected sometime this week. If anyone knows when they'll be stocked, it would be appreciated.

Went to South Lakes Park pond in Denton again yesterday about 4-7, they must have stocked the trout now since we got one. A few playing with the lines but only one real bite, so thats all we got was the one. Gonna try again on Tuesday.

I'm either going there Wednesday or chasing crappie in the creeks. Probably the crappie. Any ideas if they plan on staying on their original schedule or is it going to be a guessing game for the next two months?

Maybe it's a holdover! Haaa. Where's my powerbait fly? I know it's here somewhere.

I went for a little while yesterday and some today around noon. Didn't get a nibble. Like jrose40 though, I don't know which pond to be fishing. Anyone know?

BTW, they are only stocking 300 at a time so, it may take 3-4 weeks to get any decent quantities in there. Could just be they weren't biting too.

Yeah I did confirm that it is the pond closet to the school. Saw a fellow TFF out there and he said him and a group of people caught 1, so low behold they are in there LOL.

Okay I have been to that pond like 6 times and caught one. I don't know, I keep thinking they stocked it cause of the one but its hard to believe em when they never bite. Maybe by stocking they meant one guy with a 5 gallon bucket of trout.

I've caught my limit there twice now, so I know they're in there. The orange powerbait seemed to work well.

The math (which I suck at) on that means there are probably about 100 fish left for the entire pond. I, for one, get suckered in by the "total" fish number on the TPWD site. If they put that many in each stocking, it would be a free-for-all, but those little needles are in a pretty big haystack with the current numbers.

I went out there last weekend, with a borrowed pole and very little tackle, and caught nothing...
i called and surprisingly they said they just stocked it 2 days ago, and stocking it again on the 24th... so i'm gonna go again with different lures and some doughbait and give it another shot...
oh!! and my girlfriend called and they at first said the school, but then after we grilled them, they said it was the one by eureka park.... with the neighborhood fishingsign...
we'll see if we catch anything this time,
