Pork and Shrimp Siu MaiOne of the most popular food items on the dim sum menu.
Ingredients1/2 lb ground pork
1 lb Shrimp
4 stalks of green onions
4oz of woodear or shitake mushrooms
2 tablespoon corn starch
2 tablespoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon soysauce
1 tablespoon grated ginger
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon white pepper
Siu Mai Wrappers
InstructionsDice up shrimp, onions and mushrooms, then mix them in a bowl.
Throw everything in a processor + all other ingredients (except wrappers) and process for about 30 seconds. Do not puree, it should have ground pork consistency.
Get a couple huge plates and put flour on them to keep fron sticking.
Grab and spoon and place some meat on the wrappers.
wrap them up like so... very easy.
Steam for 10 minutes each batch.
Sprinkle some pepper or chinese 5 spice (optional) and serve with soysauce + chili mix.
