I just got a new reel...the one mentioned above and need to rig it up with some line...I mainly use spinning reels so I need some help. I am pairing it up with the Allstar baitcast rod that I got recently from academy...the shrimp tail special. Thanks in advance.

IMO id use any of your favorite line that you currently use, i use both mono and braid on my baitcasters and spinning reels, if you do decide to go braid spool a couple of lines of mono on the spool first then spool the braid.. again JMO el reel you got es muy chingona, it should work well with any type of line

Pretty much what rick said, use what you feel comfortable with.
I like to use both braid and mono, but I use mono most of the time.
In my opinion if you are looking for the best mono to use I would highly recommend using Izorline Platinum. It's the best mono you can use for saltwater, like fishing the bays and so forth. And it is not expensive either. I love it and I have tried a lot of different lines and this stuff is the absolute best. You can't get it at Academy though.
If you are going to Academy and looking at just getting something dependable and not expensive then I would just get some Berkley Big Game. 10 lb. test. But if you like a heavier line then go with 12 lb. test

I appreciate the info...I heard some horror stories about using braid on baitcast reels...is that a thing of the past or just a novice thing? What I mean is that I heard that the braid would cut into your thumb as you slowed the spool during casts to avoid backlashes...and it is harder to remove a "bird's nest" from them. I have gotten away from using the baitcast reels because of this.
I just got back from practicing casting my curado and shrimp tail special combo and it sure is nice!!! The weather is bad, raining, but I still got out there and cast....gonna be nice to have a red or trout or floundie on the end of it! I ended up putting P-line 15lb on it. I have had good results with it and it is pretty tough. I will look into the Izorline Plat AJ...gracias por su ayuda carnales!

yea i used to have more of that issue when i would just spool the braid directly onto the spool, but after spooling a couple of lines mono onto the spool fist that problem stopped, i tend t have the break on a bit stronger when using brad to backlash less.... de nada

enjoy the curado's. I just got a pair of them, they are sweet. One thing i didnt know about them is the brakes you can adjust if you are having trouble with backlash. Be sure to play around with them to get the best casts.
I don't usually use braid, but i have used it once with no issues.
