is this line any good? Walmart had it on clearance for 4.99 for 250 yd spools of 10lb test. I bought a spool for my crankin rod. Spooled it and it seemed to cast fine and be pretty darn sensitive, I was just wondering any pros and cons of people who have used it in the past. I know even at regular price, its pretty cheap for fluro.
also, does fluro generally last longer than mono?

I will comment on this line every time someone ask. It is junk. If you do not believe me then do a search. There is a reason why it is so cheap - trust me. Worst line I ever used as well as several guys in my club. I would not care if it was free. It would actually shred when cinching it down.

Although I haven't used any other FC's and currently on first spool of the Vicious FC I was suprised at the sensitivity of it. Tying a knot with it is a bit difficult, due to the stiffness of the line. But I will continue using it until I find anoter line that I like better.

I like it. used it this past year in all the media big d tourneys and never had it break. Took some 20 lb to falcon and never broke off a fish. couldnt hardly get it to break when I was hung up.
Straigtned out a 5/0 texposer hook on a monster fish, but the line never failed.
I have never had it shred when tying the knot, but like any fluro, it has to be wet.

I've used it and for the price not to bad. It will not last as long as preimum fluro line. The best way to buy Vicious is in a 600 yard spool. Use backing on your reel and put on 50 yds of Visious. I do think the Vicious is not great in cold water. But for practice fishing in Texas its a good value.
I have used that Red Label [censored] from Segaur and would take Visious over that any day. The Invisx is good though. Thats what I use when fishing for the most part.

so what is the bottom line ( price wise everything is on sale) I havnt used it but was cosidering it. there are way to many different oppinions about it. Ill go buy some and try it for a week since I fish every day and give My oppinion on it . most of us are looking for something that can be used daily ,long term that gives us what we need. I think joho5 is looking for something that is good and universal and so am I.

I don't think there is one. To overpriced. zx225 knows what he is talking about. I have had decent luck fishing with Vicious though.
I am not saying its the best line at all. Make no mistake it is not.

I realize you have to wet line but it still would shred after that. The company said they had bad batches when the line first came out. As you can see most folks say it is junk but some folks like it and others need to find out for themselves. Good luck cause you will need it

Not really, I have yet to bust a fish off in 3 years using it. Broke some off at the knot but not the line. Anyone who thinks it is junk can just continue to keep paying double for other lines. Flouro has a little memory issue, but it has gotten alot better.

I had to make sure I was logged in first, to respond to that last statement. (Broke some off at the knot but not the line.) Well the knot is the line!(Flouro has a little memory issue,) Ive tried so many brands, and they all have memory! Seems like you just about have to respool after using it 4 times. The only trick I have found is to cut off the lure and freespool the line in the water and reel it back to get more use out of it. Otherwise it has a tendency to backlash on every flippin cast!

Please define (Broke some off at the knot)! The line makes the knot. If the line is weak,it will break at the weakest point! (The Knot)!

for the price seaguar red label is not bad, preety strong and last a good while
berkley 100% is preety decent, but ive seen it break a few times.
seaguar invix is a little better than berkley 100%
im trying the lake fork flurocarbon right now and i like it a lot so far, its very very strong and im straighting out super line hooks with it.

Don't care what anyone else says, I have used the 14lb line and would love to find sone more to stock up on. I can no longer find it in 14lb anywhere. My son and I were given a spool at a tournament we fished because we kept braking off fish and it solved the problem. Used it the rest of the season without any problems. If anyone knows where to find some in 14lb test please let me know!!

I have been using 14# & 20# for 18-24 months with no problems. Seems all mono & fluoro have memory that is why I also use KVD Line & Lure each time I go out.
As with any line/reel everyone has a good/bad opinion. You just have to try it and see if it meets YOUR requirements. For me Vicious does and it is half the price of many of the Fluoro's mentioned.

Please define (Broke some off at the knot)! The line makes the knot. If the line is weak,it will break at the weakest point! (The Knot)! Are you serious or are you just trolling to argue? If you have the wrong knot tied, the line is going to slip and therefore you are going to break off!!
