I am an angler who cannot go on a 12 hour fishing trip. I have my 2 year old daughter with me on 99% of my trips. I was complaining about that yesterday to my wife. At work today I got a frantic call from my wife that my daughter had taken a couple of pills and needed to go to the ER. Frantically driving home with my hazzards on and weaving in and out of traffic between Plano and SW Dallas I had a realization that without my lil one I could never fish again. It wouldn't be the same. She is the reason I started carp fishing because she now laughs at the big "fishies" Thank god she is ok and after we hit childrens she actually took daddy to the "ickies" she tried to eat. she had hid them behind her toybox. 2 year minds who can figure them out. But on the brighter side on my next day off I am taking her to ghostie and hopefully she will be amazed at the big "fishies" I just thank god she is asleep in her bedroom safe and warm.

Im glad she is ok, thats a call all parents dread to get. If it was me in that situation as soon as i got home my main concern would be finding out where she got the pills from and how she got to the pills not to mention how she got the pill bottle open. Two year olds keep you on your toes and if you take your eyes off of them for one second thats all it takes for them to get them selves in to trouble. Once again glad she is ok, and when two get some big fishies out of ghostie be sure to post pics we love to see them!

It was a rare situation. My wife god love her had her last wisdom tooth yanked yesterday and used the diaper bag as a purse. she forgot she put the pills in the diaper bag and left it in lil butts room. When she remembered she went in to get the pills and Maddy had grabbed them already. She couldn't find the darvocette and paniced I cannot blame her. But thank god everything worked out. Now I am debating on putting a hair rig on my daughters barbie fishing pole. LOL

Good to hear she's well. We often joke about Fishing being most important, but in reality we know that it pales in comparison to where our families sit on the List.

Thanks the the posting Bart. I'm right with you; people come first. Leo, my hats off to you.
My youngest (two boys, two step-daughters) is now a freshman in college (gig 'em Ags!) but I remember many scary incidents while they were younger. It doesn't get any easier as they get older, either. The trials and blessings of parenthood!
