Reel...I mean real! ....its all about the smell but the fake ones are sounding better after seeing(and paying ) the price tags on the real ones! Got a great tree from Lowes in Lewisville last year. 8 footer Douglas Fir I think, it had a crank in the stump which to they applied some sealant and then knocked the price down to $10. Tree was still in great shape when we took in down in January. Gonna look for one with a crack this year on purpose.

Been faking it for the last 18 years!!! Faking it allows me to choose exactly what shape I want. When keeping it real you have to look real hard for the perfect shape (tall=not enough girth; short=stubby). I have several fake ones - one I use in the garage, one in the living room, another in the entry way and one in the bedroom.

We've had a fake tree for about 15 years and wouldn't go back to a live one. However, I need all you guys to buy live ones because I need about 20-25 trees under my dock each year. LOL A few years ago, I was rounding up trees after Christmas in our neighborhood and had about 6 lying in my front yard. Just as I came home dragging another one, there was a pickup stopped at my house and 2 guys were getting out to get all the trees. When they saw I had another one they knew I was using them and apologized. Had I been about 10 minutes later, they would have had several trees without knowing what they had done. If a tree is in the street, I grab it. If in the yard, I ask.

My Christmas tree is about 12" tall, came out of the box decorated and sits on a shelf above the TV so I have Christmas up all year long. (The kids call me and ask me what I am doing Christmas-usually working-and that is my reminder that the holiday is near.)
