Welcome, I always heard bad stuff about new york but last summer I spent a week in Manhattan and really enjoyed the place. Lots of lights and met some nice people but I got kinda tired of hearing them say "Your not from here are you?" Heck it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out where I was from with my East Texas accent.

Welcome Rose, I too was in New York City a couple of years ago and was pleasantly surprised at the warmness of the people there. I hope you enjoy your time here on the forum. It's full of good information and good people.

I have no fond memories of New York City or the five boroughs (sp?). Of course my experience is jaded from experiencing the decidedly unfriendly drivers, dock workers, and NYPD's finest while trying to pilot a big rig and 53' trailer through streets made for horse and buggies. splat
