Butch Brown - Huge Bass Stalker -1

Mike Long holds many of the Southern California lake records - however, there are a group of guys down there that do nothing but target the huge bass of So. Cal. Butch Brown is one of the unsung hero's in my book when it comes to catching MONSTERS - and videos it to boot!

Check these out:

Maybe Trout in Lake Fork is a good idea!!!!

Butch Brown - Geez

Butch Brown - Unbelieveable

Big Bass? LOL Butch Brown

Yes, the videos are priceless. Looks like he could stand to have a little bit wider boat. Monster bass for sure.

Omg. In the last video the lure came flying out of the fish's mouth just as he netted it! Wow.

Oh, and it looks like two of the videos you posted are the same.

Butch Brown is a fixture at Castaic Lake in S Cal. I lived just ten miles from the lake for some 25 years and occasionally fished the lower lake. What you see in the videos is the lower lake at Castaic which is about 300 acres. It is almost without structure but Butch knows the few spots that hold fish.
The lower lake restricts main engines to loading and un-loading so there was a time when Butch rigged up a jon boat with two 100# tm so he could be the first to any spot.
The lower lake benefited over the years by fisherman from the main lake bringing their fish to the Mini Mart to weigh then releasing them in the closer lower lake. Just a little background but there is no doubt that trout plants make the difference.

Mike Long has over 30 of the top 100 bass caught and is also a heckuva tournament fisherman, as well as being just a good ol' boy as well.

the TPWD really should look into some type of experimental stocking program with trout...I can tlel you I fish local pond occaisonally and it is stocked with trout every Feb and for being a 2 acre pond with zero cover other than having a whispy grass everywhere, there are PIGS in there...the water is clear and you can see tons of 7#+ fish on almost any given day. they just sit there and look at you...biggest one I have managed to pull out was a 6# but I know there has to be some double digits in there and shouldn't be possible in a pond that size but is and I thinks it only because of the 5000 trout they put in each year and more than 75% of those are probably caught in the 1st 10 days from when they are released.
