Seriously it will not be $71,000.00 as no one pays MSRP. Call some dealers and check the MSRP on all the brands and you'll find they are all like that and actual price is a lot less than that. It will be comparble to the iClass from what I have heard as far as actual prices.

You know the bad thing is, most 'normal' folks wouldn't pay that much for a bass rig. But somewhere out there, someone would....

While no one pays MSRP, I bet you'll be within spittin' distance totally loaded out with top end electronics, and all the extras.

I'm betting it will be $60k+. They will probably sell the SHO for $4-5k+ more than a comparable 2 stroke.

not me - been there done that with skeeter. Too many quality issues in my experience. Don't get me wrong, it was a good boat just had some quality concerns and they need to work on customer service.

Probably not totally. Truth be told people will pay it. If someone had asked me 5 years ago if I would be willing to pay 35K for a boat, I would have told them they were smoking some serious crack. Today? Hmm that sure is one pretty bass boat hooked up to my truck.....

No one pays MSRP, that may be true, MSRP has killed free enterprise. Most rods, reels, etc are the same price at every store, with the manufacture printing the MSRP on the label used as the price tag for the store. If I buy from the manufacturer at cost, I should be able to sell for what ever I want.

As for boats, I was in the market for new about two years ago, Went to all the dealers, with cash in hand for down, an little or no budge on the price. Finally bought used.

I think I will wait until the first wave or repo Skeeters after people tire of the 800 month or better boat payment. But, I still want one.

I am curious as to what is different about this boat, why did they have to redesign a new boat for the Yamaha?. I imagine most of the price increase is due to the engine. Oouch

It's amazing how the price of bass rigs have climbed since 2002! ack in 2002 I attended the Kansas City Sports & Outdoor Show and Champion had their '02 model "Harley Davison" edition that was amazing.....the sticker was $24K !

I might take a closer at that Skeeter if it were priced closer to $68-69k, but $71k...... out of my league! dunce

All most of us really need is a floatable front deck, variable speed MK trolling motor with maximizer, and a running OB. It's like Grand Daddy said:"Pay small;Lose small".

I don't see anyone financing 71k for a boat....If you are rich and can pay cash more power to you, but I just don't know why you would want to pay that much for a moveable dock!

I don't believe Yamaha had much choice on their 2 strokes.. Merc and E-Tec might hang in awhile longer. They still meet the Regs.

Reminds me of a Steve Wariner song. Look if you pay $20,000, and it depreciates 50%, it only costs you $10,000. If you pay $70,000, and it depreciates 50%,it costs you $35,000.

The poopy part of the "buying the boat" syndrome. Is now your $60,000 dollar King Ranch, needs to be replaced with one of those F650's Customized, $100K rigs. And your wife is still eyeing new furniture.........IT JUST NEVER STOPS!!!

My first Skeeter, a Wrangler with a 150 Mercery was $7,800, ny next was a Skeeter Starfire in 1984 and it was $13,600, my next was a ZX (I forget the year) and it was $24,000 +-, and then.... and then.... now it's a 2007 21-I and it was about $40,000+

Up .... Up.... and Up

Whatever the market will bear.

Of course I will admit there have been some wonderful changes in many, many ways. At 57 mph my Skeeter Wrangler was one of the fastest aroud but it had some "chime walking" times and they were an experience and if you could fight through them .... they were FUN!!!

Electronics have changed tremendously!

Fuel & oil injection is a vast improvement!

Better comfort!!

Better fuel economy!

Much, much safer!!!!!

GPS!!

on and on and on !!!!!!!!!!!!

Buy hey, spinnerbaits were like $1.50, crankbaits were $2.00, worms were $3.00 for a hundred pack, graphite and boron rods were less than $40 bucks, swimbaits (of the day) were $2.00 for a pack of 15 .................

Times are a changin'!!!!!!!!!!

really sad part is people will finance that boat and end up paying 100k in the end, I'll continue to let someone else take the hit on depreciation and then buy it used when the next "gotta have" boat comes out smile

The boat is not $71K. Skeeter designed the "FX" to optimize the power of the new 4-Stroke motor. The boat is to be released at the Bassmasters Classic. The public should be able to take delivery of orders after that. This is going to be one of the best bass boats ever because of the hull being made to match the power output of the motor.

Can you exapnd upon those changes, is that information released yet? Just curious why that had to redesign a boat for a 225hp engine that weight approx the same. Not bashing, just curious what bthe diffs are between the I class and the FX.

They could have left it the same and bolted the new 4-stroke to it, but they redesigned the hull to optimize the power the SHO puts out. There are cosmetic changes to the consoles to look simular to the engine cowlings of the Yamaha SHO. Specific inch and degree numbers of the boat have not been released yet...Santa Claus can't even get one of these boats smile
