Been slow at work so took a vacation day tomorrow. Been about 4-5 months since I fished Conroe or really any fishing much at all. Had other projects, summertime was hot and was traveling for work much during that time. Anyways, I know it's supposed to rain cats and dogs tomorrow, I figure as long as no lightning and winds stay under 20 most of the time, I can probably tie up under the 1097 like I always do and kick back and go for catfish/crappie and relax. Will most likely get to test out tomorrow the BPS 100mph gear I got on clearance earlier this year

I always worry about getting out in a big lake during rain and wind in my little boat, but the southeast corner of the 1097 bridge has that RV park and boat launch/storage ...that little cove at the end of the bridge and butted up to the RV park has a pretty decent place to beach the boat with no bulkheads, a gradual shallow incline and sandy/grassy bottoms. If things ever got really, really nasty I figure I could lay the ears back on the boat and just beach the boat in that cove and get to high ground. One time I waited a little too long to untie and get going during an oncoming storm and took one over the front trying to get the boat planed up. I looked back and there was 10-12" of water in the back of my boat. I installed a bad@** bilge after that little episode.
