I'm wanting a fish/depth finder but I know very little about them. What features would yall consider a must have? Are thier any worth buying that are under $150.

The more pixels the better. Are you looking for a full size one or one of the mini versions? For you prices range you may look at the Eagle 320. $139 at Academy. They ran it on sale for $99 last spring.

I just looked at the one you have online at Academy. So thats a pretty good model, easy to use? I have an Eagle compact model that came on the boat its a FishEasy 245 DS. I wanted a little bigger screen so the 320 comes with a 5" screen. What is your opinion on color screens vs. Grey screen?

I just bought a Garmin with color screen and it is much brighter and easy to see in bright sunlight than my previous black and white units. It has a small screen, but actually easier to read because of vivid color and brightness. I installed it yesterday, so today was my first day with it. Very pleased so far. This Garmin was the cheapest color unit I could find, $198.00, plus $47.00 for the speed sensor. I hope you have luck finding a color unit for $150.00.

I have a Fishmark 320 on my boat. To be honest with you I don't use it to find Fish I use it to find depth and bottom surface & structure. From all I've learned this year alone. My next Depth Finder will be a color screen Lowrance probably. From what I've heard you can tell the diffence between scaled and non-scaled fish with a color unit by the color on the Arch. But all in all that Fishmark 320 is a pretty good unit.

For $150 I would stear clear of color units...you will give up too much in pixels(resolution), screen size, and power.

The Eagle 320 or 480 are hard to beat. Cabelas also has a clearance on the Lowrance X125 for that price range.

I am not that familiar with other units as this is the only one I have ever owned. However I have been on a few boats with much better units that cost a lot of $$ (I think) and I beleive I can tell the same things they can as long as I read it correctly.
