What is the weirdest thing you have caught? I caught a 4 foot King Snake Eel Sunday at the South Jettie. I thought I had either a bad [censored] flounder or a nice bull red. Then this big monster snake pops up. It was nasty and viscious!

Yeah, I will get my wife to download them so I can put them on here. I had a game warden tell me what it was. Then I searched the internet and found it. Some other guy caught one at 6 1/2 feet. I think the record is like 7. Scary. To think we wade fish out there. and they are predators!

I left that ugly sucker on the sand. From the time I took it out till the time I left, which was about 2 hours, that sucker was still moving agressively. Some guys said it was good bull red bait. Some said the phillipino's eat them. But me, it was nasty; and I didn't want it back in the water. Put up a great fight.

As posted on another thread, sea robin last trip out. Croaks, has horns, and walks on it's pec fins if left on the deck. Past couple of years have been catching a long round bodied fish with a mouthfull of teeth, mottled green in color. ID'd it at one point in time, but have since forgotten what it is.

If it had a triangular mouth, it was probably a 'lizard fish', at least that's what we call 'em in Florida.

Yeah, I was going to post about eels but forgot to ask about it. In particular the American Conger Eel. I saw a video on youtube that I came across some days ago. This guy that calls himself the Serial Fish Killer. Anyways he was fishing at this place close to Pass Cavallo I think and he caught some reds and trout and in the video he says he caught some big 5 foot eel that broke his line off. But he didn't show it in the video. Anyways, I read in the latest issue of Texas Fish and Game magazine about these guys that were fishing offshore in the gulf and one of them caught and landed in the boat a huge long eel. Called the American Conger Eel. Said it was about a 60 year old eel. And they said this thing was PIZZED OFF !! It started trying to strike and attack them like a rattlesnake or something and it said all those guys ran and hid in the cabin of the boat running and screaming like girls. So they had a few beers to think of a plan to get rid of it and build up some courage. And one of them wanted to shoot it with a pistol till one of them said not to shoot the gun as they were 120 miles offshore !! They hit it with a cooler lid and all kinds of stuff and threw a blanket over it and managed to get it in a cooler. Then they said this thing jumped out of the cooler and started trying to strike and attack them again till they beat it with anything they could like a fire extinguisher and cooler lid and whatever they could get their hands on and they had to pile stuff on top of the cooler to keep this thing from getting out. Anyways they said this thing was really strong and violent too. Said it will attack swimmers and people. Scary. Was wondering if anybody has come across one of these in the bays? Or are they just offshore? Here is a picture of the guy with his eel in that story I read in Texas Fish and Game magazine. It's in the latest issue of it I just don't have a copy of the magazine.

Had a 300 lb cow-nosed ray jump in our boat a few years ago. She then proceeded to have a litter of pups all over the deck before dying. We threw all the pups over board but she was too big and flailing around too much for us to get her out of the boat.
