OK, i tried my luck at miller creek last weekend drifting and didnt do squat. dad and i will prahlee head to HC sunday for a crappie trip, but just in case the crappies dont wanna cooperate, i thought i would see if any of you guys had a catfish report for Hubbard creek. we run jugs and are trying to learn "drift fishing" as well.

thanks,

WEll hears one for ya thats my home lake pretty much right there for crappie and catfish and pretty good sandy population. but for drifting there is a flat on the west side of goat island that we have put jugs on and drifted very succesfully. Also use live perch or goldfish or shad or cut em up when your drifting there use a santee cooper rig and the flat is about 30-36ft deep depending on the lake level last time I was there it was 33

thanks. we will probably wind up crappie fishing the most, but i like to have a backup plan.

we do a lot of jug fishing there in the spring and do well at it. trying to get started learning this drifting technique. seems like a fun way to fish

HC is 12 minutes from the Ranch that I hunt on. I'd like to hear how you do. I might take the boat with me and fish inbetween hunts.

we catch a lot of blues on jugs in the spring but never really try to pole fish for them. to busy with 30 jugs!!LOL.

if we cant find the crappies this weekend, i will try to convince dad to try drifting, as we are leaving the jugs at home.
