I am debating purchasing a 17' aluminum boat for use in both fresh and salt fishing. I'm considering Alumacraft or G3. Any opinions or input? Reviews?

Plus: They'll take a beating...oyster shell, sand bars, etc. Light weight, easy to tow, easy (er) to slide off a mud bank.

Minus: they are rough and wet. But, if you're looking at a flats/tunnel hull, that's just part of it, glass or tin.

thanks for the input, pat.

they are pretty sweet... i saw a black 18' alumacraft w/90hp yamaha and tunnel and it was nice. like pat said, you may have a bit rougher and wetter ride but i don't mind it for $10K less than a glass boat.

i just want to make sure there's noone out there who's bought one and regretted not spending the extra $$$ for a bay boat. i don't want to end up realizing it too late.
