Bite the bullet and put good batteries in the boat. I bought a Cabela's AGM Group Size 27 battery and it works great. Before I had problems finding anything that would run all day with all of my electronics and live wells running. Fished this past weekend from day light to dark and still had pleanty of power.

Battery description: The next generation of lead-acid batteries, our revolutionary Advanced Anglers series uses a separator similar to fiberglass to hold the electrolyte in place. This physical bond between the separator fibers, the lead plates and the container completely eliminates leaks and makes these some of the most vibration- and impact-resistant marine batteries on the market. These completely maintenance-free 12-volt batteries also play double duty on the water, serving as either a cranking battery or a deep-cycle power source. In testing, this revolutionary design withstood over 400 drain/charge cycles, giving them a life span far surpassing conventional batteries. Meets all EPA/OSHA marine requirements. FAA and DOT approved. 18-month warranty.

Group 27 "Maintenance-free"
Size Deep Cycle
or Cranking Marine (Both applications) 1200 Amps
Cranking Amps Cold 950
Cranking Amps Reserve 180
Capacity Weight 62.5lbs
(Ibs.) L"x W"x H" 12.0 x 6.75 x9.87

Price: $189.99 (18 month warranty)

I have three of these in my boat. One for cranking and two for my troll motor. Once you get past the expense its no longer a worry if you charge them as soon as you are off the water. Keep them charged and get years of use.

If I had the space I would have gotten the Group 30 Series batteries. Very heavy!

Group 30 "Maintenance-free"
Size Deep Cycle
or Cranking Marine (Both applications) 1525 Amps
Cranking Amps Cold 1205
Cranking Amps Reserve 205
Capacity Weight 84 lbs
(Ibs.) L"x W"x H" 13.0 x 6.88 x 9.56

Price: $219.99 (18 month warranty)

+1
I'm on my second set after 6-yrs from the first set, @100+ days a year running them hard.

I have several converts to the AGM type battery and everyone of the guys thank me, they praise the strength and durability these batteries have. Simply the best plug and play batteries I've ever owned bar none, well worth the extra cost.

I bought my boat used. It has Wal-Mart batteries in it I have had the boat for 3 years. They have worked great. I will most likely replace them with the Wal-Mart ones.
