Went out of Dolphin docks Sat for a 12 hr day trip- what a blast, kinda sucks though throwing back all those red snapper only to keep the smaller lane and vermillion snappers. For every keeper I threw 2 reds back, just to watch a shark and a dolphin get to eat them!

Only big issue i had was many of us were shorted a lot of fish at the end of the day on our stringers. Note to self- next time they go straight into my own cooler!

Went out 35 miles or so i was told, but was really wanting to catch some tuna. Any suggestions on which is best outfit to charter out? This was my first time and i can't wait to go again!

go 1 spot to the right or left, Scat Cat(Fishermans wharf)
or Pelican/Gulf Eagle (Deep Sea Headquarters)
you generally need to get off the shelf (75nm+) for the Yellows,
but Blackfin can be found around shrimpers. where they are day to day is anybody's guess, but 35nm is about the starting point for both.

I have not been with them in a while. Last I went they would not let you bring your own cooler. DD has their problems. I have been shorted fish there also, last trip my two day limit of red snapper vanished. I do not rule them out, but when finance allows I will ride another boat as lite-liner stated.

DD will s%#X* you everytime! It's not the crew(s)it's the DD operators. Learn from the experience.
