dad and i are taking our annual crappie-trip-before-thanksgiving this weekend and cant decide where to go. we always got to HC and go up big sandy and do really well, but the lake is down about 7-8 feet and the hydrilla was really bad this year, so we are considering other options. if any of you guys have any tips for Ivie, that would be great, or any good reports from HC would be awesome too..

thanks in advance.

Hubbard is still your best bet. Ivie is to hit and miss on crappie IMO. You can nearly always catch crappie at Hubbard if you go to enough places.

crappie are biting at hubbard creek. no limits, but 15-20 every trip on Slab Buster crappie jigs. depth = 10-12ft. it is not fast and furious for sure.

I answered your mail with more info. Slab Buster Crappie Jig, just goggle it for more info. The owner, Jack is a hoot to visit with. Colors working changes from day to day it seems, but the standard colors will work, white/chart, black/chart and electric chicken. Jack lives on Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri and that is where the jig is made.

I haven't done very good at Ivie, and everyone I talk to say it has been slow for them also. It has been very hit or miss with more misses than hits!

You will have no problem getting up the creek. I've done it when it was 15 ft low. Go for it.
