Looks like it might be time to find some brown foam and get to tying some Trout Chow flies.

I figured I was treading on thin ice talking about the foam fish food fly, but I never thought of throwing rocks at them.

I wonder why they don't stock any in lubbock? There are towns less than 1/10 the size of lubbock that get stocked. Guess I'll have to wait until I go back to Belton for Christmas break.

Glad that schedule is out I want to fish Teague Park in Longview, Elder lake in Kilgore, and I see there is a new community lake in Marshall that is not even open yet. The info I googled up says it will open with the trout stocking and will also have plantings of catfish, bass, and crappie. Good old Marshall done surprised me.

Yes, I plan to go to all three of those places. I think they were keeping the grand opening of the one in Marshall until they got the trout stocked. It should open real soon. Do you see it on the trout schedule? I didn't think to look at it yet.

Newbie here with a question... I live in Carrollton, and am curious about the location of "Lewisville Tailrace (Elm Fork Trinity River)". Is this a river, stream, lake...just what is is?? Is there any top water fishing?? I'm used to stream fishing in southern Missouri, mostly dry fly. I really just found out about this 'stocking' program and MISS my trout fishing.. Thanks, Srtrout53 (Gary)

Lont-Haired Dave has this one correct as usual, but they do make good chum for stripers. Sounds like it is time to tie up some more chartreuse and pink decivers.
I don't remember Elder lake in Kilgore from when I grew up in that town in the 1950's. Where is it?

SrBuck, I think the Lewisville tailrace is just the spillway for Lake Lewisville, but I'm not 100% sure about that. Hopefully someone who knows the answer will chime in here.
Copy and paste these coordinates into google maps and I think you'll be close.

I don't know what the landmarks were in the 50's. It is Synergy Industrial Park now. It is located just north of 349 and west of 259 justoff the new loop. I think it was a private ranch back in the 50's
