Didn't catch a dang thing. I committed to paddling around for reds only. No cats. What do I catch in 5 hours of fishing? One cat. On a gulp bait, casting for reds. I fished the crappie wall bank closest to the park, fished the wall, fished from the wall to the dam, fished from the spillway to the kayak put in. Worst part....I didn't mark a single fish on the fish finder. Just schools of shad here and there. Didn't see any reds caught at the wall. I got a GREAT back/shoulder work out with all the paddling though.

hey kyle next time when your trolling the dam and seeing nothing but bait, take your kayak out and run over to the northside of the lake and put in from the bank somewhere....the reds haven't been runnin hard by the dam...been on N side of lake towards the powerlines. Good Luck.

try the Norman DD22's in firetiger, blue/chartruese...i troll alot with cranks and those have been the best, altough most colors will work. trolled 1oz bill lewis traps chrome/blue produced well for me too..Just some ideas for ya, hope you have better luck next time! but like i said bait fish is no good if you want reds!!! also wanted to add don't be scared to bang those dd22's off the bottom...2 of my biggest of the year came via that method.
