I have an Ambassador 5400c (I think) that needs repairing. The line guide gets stuck to one side. I have already replaced the worm gear. There must be something else wrong. and I would like to get it fixed within a week or so.

you have an academy near you?

It's probably just the pawl which is cheap and available at some Academy's. Takes about a minute to replace...

it's the bottom part in this picture, and I'd bet that the teeth are a little worn. That's a very common part to wear out on an ambassadeur due to the non-disengaging levelwind.

I was only able to find the worm gear there, I will look and ask next time I'm in there, which will be Thursday. Thanks!
