here's the issue- I tow the 22' boat in the pic below.
no problem pulling, but the trans seems to work in reverse of what it should. w/ my older(read: limited ability)scanner I can monitor calculated load @ any rpm. As the engine load
increases, (up a hill, etc.) the trans DOWNSHIFTS into high, then
I feel the TCC lockup, then what I assume is that injector-cutout deal happens, & now I'm mashing the pedal for kickdown
cause I've lost 15mph going up a 4% grade. turning between 15-1700 rpm. pedal/tps is all over the place trying to keep it in the right gear. tow button is on, which I assume is to negate tcc lockup.
If I set the speed control, the trans holds the right gear and operates properly.never sets any dtc's.
now it has started doing it w/out towing anything.I have zero experience w/ any electronic transmissions, but is there a way I can determine if this is a pcm/programming glitch?
thanks
-Brian
any input would be greatly appreciated

sounds like a tps glitch or check to see if there is a pedal position sensor kinda like the diesels??? i dont know too much about dodge electronics, but sounds like some sensor in manual(non cruise control) is skewing the PCM's readings.

you could possibly narrow it down by looking at what sensors are used in cruise control, and which ones are used in manual mode(non cruise). if you have access to that type of material.
