I was wondering if the Forever Last Ray Guards are uncomfortable or fill up with water when wading? I notice they dont look like they have holes for water to go out of them. I want to get a pair but want to get a little feedback first.
Thanks for your replies!

Yes, I use the Foreverlast Ray Guard boots. I like them. Some people say they are uncomfortable but I have had no problems with them. They are a little heavy in weight but I don't really see it as that much of a problem. Also get a size or two bigger that your normal shoe size to accomodate for the waders.

No problem. I like the added peace of mind of having the protective shield on the boots. I know they sell the guards seperate for abour $30 I think at Academy to go over whatever boots you have already and they have the regular Reef Boots for about $40 I think, but I like the Ray Guard boots with the protective part on them since the guards are attached to the boot all the way up to the top part of the boot and they are easy and convenient to me. Plus I definitely don't want to get hit by a stingray. They sell for $114 a pair I believe but I got several pairs on sale some time back from a tackle dealer. I got 3 pairs for about 100 bucks.
They are nice because the boot is made of a thick vulcanized rubber. I don't know if it will stop a stingray barb if it goes through the boot on the foot part, but I imagine it will stop the barb to some degree.
And the upper part of the boot is made of a neoprene material that you can zip up all the way to the top. And it has an adjustable velcro strap on the top too. And then you just overlap the protective shields over the neoprene part and secure them with the two plastic locks they have which you can adjust as well.
The only thing is they are a bit heavy to walk in but once you are in the water you won't feel the weight as much.

A friend of mine is a tackle dealer so if you are interested in a pair I'll see if he maybe can get your size. They would be about $35. Better than paying the $114 plus tax at Academy and save you some money. I think they make them up to size 14 or 15.

Another thing is that I cannot say for sure whether they work or not.
I know you are supposed to shuffle your feet when wading and not lift your feet up, but I get sloppy a lot and I don't shuffle my feet with them on sometimes and walk backwards and get careless and I haven't been hit yet.
But I remember this guy saying he has been hit 3 times with his Ray Guard boots on and he said he felt the stingray try to get him but the barb didn't go through and the boots saved him 3 times so far. And he said he could see on the boots where the ray tried to put the barb through the boot but it didn't really damage the boot much but he could still see where the barb tried to go through. He said he could actually feel the stingray try to get him even with the boots on.

Sure no problem. Just let me know what size and I can see if he has them in the size you need. It's best to go with one to two sizes bigger than your normal shoe size.

He used to have a tackle store years ago, but not anymore and now he just buys tackle in bulk and sells to people that sell online and so forth and some things he orders from the manufacturer, just depends what items. He gets truckloads of tackle and sometimes buys closeouts and discounted stuff and stores going out of business and all kinds of tackle and gear.
Some of the Ray Guard boots he would get mismatched pairs. So then he would have to sort through boxes to make a matched pair. One box may have a size 8 and a 10. And another box has a 10 and an 9 so he can make a pair of 10s and so forth.
It just depends what he gets in and he may have your size.

I wear a size 10 shoe so id probly need a size 11 or 12 to leave space for the waders. Let me know if he has a pair and ill buy from him. I appreciate it AJ!

Oh yeah Fishlady, I always get cool stuff from him and gear and tackle and it definitely helps to have a friend like him. I recently got a lot of really nice lures like the Mirrolure Top Dogs and She Dogs which are my favorite for like 1 and 2 bucks each. And more Super Spooks and a lot of other lures I like to use. And boxes of soft plastic baits like the Norton and DOA and so forth. I am always buying a lot of fishing stuff. Fly fishing gear and baitcast and spinning gear and lures and more tackle and gear. Some of my rooms upstairs at home here look like tackle stores.
Sure no problem Sparktime. I'll see if he has any in an 11 or 12. And then once I can confirm he has them in stock I can send you a pair and you can see if they work for you and if you like them. And then if you like them you can pay him or pay me or whatever works best. He is always getting nice stuff in all the time. The Ray Guard boots, nice waders, those Fish-N-Hunt wading belts, all kinds of stuff. I got a backup pair of brand new and really nice Hodgman neoprene waders from him for 20 bucks. Just as an extra pair since I wear breathable waders but they are nice neoprene waders for winter wading when I don't want to mess with the breathable waders and have to layer underneath.
I'll see what sizes he has. Usually you need to go at least a size or two up. Also I think there are two versions of the boots. Same boot and same features and design but I think the newer design they made the boot a tad bigger on the ankle part or wider or something to fit people's feet better. I can't remember how you tell the difference. I think the ones with a dark blue background on the picture on the box are the newer styles and the ones with light blue picture on the box are the older styles or something.
A lot of people don't like the way they feel on. They do feel heavy and bulky a bit. But once you are in the water you don't really feel the weight and they are pretty comfortable in my opinion. Guess it depends on the person's feet. So if he has 11s or 12s I'll have him send you a pair or I can send them and see if you like them first but I'll check to see if he has any first. If you are a size 10 I would go with some 12s.
