Finished the marathon on Sunday and boy it did not go well.
Started off nicely mile 1 was an easy 8:03 mile 3 right at 24:00/ 5K 25:00. At the 1 hour mark I was at 7.3 miles. 10 miles at 1:20 so right on pace for what I wanted. Then it went downhill rather quickly. Mind you it was a very humid morning temps around 63F with dewpoint 60-62F. The route splits and by mile 11.5 or so I start getting passed by alot of people and relize something is not right but I kept pressing got to the 13.1 at 1:54 still ok but 13 mins off of the half I ran 3 weeks ago. At mile 14 it was over both lower quads cramped up and I kept pushing til I couldn't move. I tried to loose them up and then my hamstring cramped up. From mile 14-26 it was a lot of walking and some jogging. I finished in 5:13. So I am happy I finished but mad at being dehydrated and cramping. My fitness was fine and mentally I wanted to run but the cramps were awful. probally 40% of people I saw cramped up.

Awesome! Good luck. You'll do great! I didn't think it would affect me that much when I finished my first half, but I actually cried. You work so hard for something and then finally accomplish it that it can be pretty overwhelming. Congrats on all your had work. Let us know how it goes!

I would need to hold a 8:50-9:00 min per mile which is slower than training pace so I will see how I do Sunday

My little sister has been running in marathon's for about 20 years and loves it.
She's ran in the Boston as well as a few other famous marathons. She'll be running in the one down in San Antonio this weekend.
Good luck.
