They come with a rail mount, but if you want the base and the pedistal they are an extra $15.00, I started out with railmounts for the front and pedistals for the back, but I went back and got the risers for the front, they work great either way! He will give you clamps that fit through the holes in the bar, and they mount right to your rail! If you are wondering about the pool noodle on that riser, I used to have another rod holder, but I didn't have the screw in the bottom of it, and picked up my trolling motor and it went in the water!!!

Ed doesn't advertize the old style other than the 1 rod holders, but I don't know why!!!

it cost more to build these than a bee ready for the average person. the clamps are $10 a piece from theearlier post and the rings are $4 and a bolt and nut+ tax for you are looking at $45 for a 3 pole setup . where a bee ready 3 is $19 and the round rail mounts are $7 no tax so you got $26 invested in a 3 pole rig. if you got Home depot and buy a ground clamp that is what a round rail pretty much is it would only cost $23. for the setup.

ed sells them and the owner is out of OK. Rick no longer deals with retail so Ed is about your only option for beereadys other than shows that rick and his brother do. some stores in the area have them but ed supply's them. ed does not advertise becuase that is the old style and no longer in production.once its gone thats it. even though it is a great holder it is not as good as the all-new SS & ALUMINUM designs. i use beereadys and have for 7 years now, i will not use another rod holder and yes i am on bee readys pro staff.

but i can understand saving $$ if you already have materials. i can understand the enjoyment of building something yourself and when its completed and a sucessful project it is then the simple fact that you did it makes it priceless. i see some bashing on the mans project and thnk its un called for. .02

I have always liked to improvise, invent, test, research, experiment, modify, upgrade, etc. all manner of things that I use and methods of doing various tasks.

It is no wonder that I have rod holders that cost multiples of what I could buy them for...but at the same time I have other rod holders that cost practically nothing due to "scrounged" materials.

One for instance, the school maintenance sold a lot of half inch solid aluminum rods...4 foot long. I got 8 of them for a dollar each.

I put a piece of CV pipe on them with radiator clamps and VOILA!! The best bank rod holders I have at the present.

I have worked out several designs and tested them on my Jon Boat but am not satisfied yet. I will keep working!

You definately need some rod-holders on there, I had some that I took off my boat when I got the Bee Readys, but I gave them to my nephew, if I still had them I would give them to you!!!

I also gave him 4 rod n reels, I wish I had them back now, but I done gave them to him!!!

Hey Guys, thanks for the info on the BeeReadys. I called Ed and told him i was loking for some single and double rod holders for my 1 1/4 inch pontoon rails and he knew exactly what I needed. Even is sending me an extra length bolt so I can get the holders on right. With shipping and handling it was just under a hundred dollars for 6 rod holders but it sure beats sticking the Abu and Ugly stick under the pedestals seats, especially when a 10 lb striper on Texoma hits!!!!!!! No more lost rods!
