i came accross this on Texas parks and Wildlife. This is the first time i have ever heard of this. Has anyone done any of these either for fun or for fishing?
some of them looked interesting even if the fishing is not that great. It is kind of nice to have the put in/take out all mapped out with exactly how far it is.
I've done the one going through Bastrop to the golf course, very cool float and some fishy looking water for sure. Also checked out some down around Port A/mustang island through the bays. Pretty cool how they map it out with signs, but we still missed the put out at Bastrop and went prolly 2 miles too far the first time...now know the railroad bridge is the signal you are getting close. I've been watching that river run guide service guy, he seems to always put people on good fish but i'm not sure which stretch he fishes...
Was the float crowded? I wonder if they made it so easy that it would be full of recreational paddlers just out for a sunday paddle. Not that there is anything wrong with that but they could make it hard to fish if it was loaded up.
