I have been catching the piss outta the sheepshead further back in some marsh near bastrop. They have been pretty steady in change in depth near shell. They were hitting live shrimp on the bottom.

They might be further back in the marshes right now. You can have em I dont eat em. hope this helps.

Same here as Redchaser14 but I fish East Matagorda Bay. We have been catching limits of the on live shrimp with a split shot weight or two about 12" or so above the hook.

All have been caught off the mid bay oyster piles where the shell slopes off into deeper water.

They are fun to catch and put up a fun fight. We only keep them if they are 18" - 19" and larger so we can get some decent fillets from them.

There were plenty by the pilings last week on Bob Hall Pier. They had Lockjaw though. Ask me how I know.

We've been catching them under the old causeway in Port Isabel on the LLM. Lots of fun.

I'm sure it's temporary, but I'm actually more interested in catching these guys than reds and specks right now.

If only I could stop hitting the pylon with my boat and busting rods under the bridge!
