Went out to Seawolf Park on Monday to see if I could drag test my new Shimano Biomaster 8000pg and Daiwa Catalina 4500h on som hard running bull reds. They got tested plenty....and then some. Non-stop action from about 7:30am till around 11am. They are still running hardcore out there right now guys. You of course have to deal with the occasional idiot, that sees you catching these bulls and decides to c-block your spot everytime you turn around. I don't really mind it when people see me catch fish and move in for one of their own, IF they have the proper gear and set-up. AnyHOO-
We then got tired of catching the reds, and decided to hit up the flounder hole. Considering the fact that the weather was crummy, and the water level up about 4 FEET, it wasn't so bad. We caught several flounder that were about 14-16". Between my buddy and I we kept our limit of 4, smallest one being 17" and the largest one being a 21"er. Not too big yet, but getting better.
Well, having limited out on flatties, we decided to go back to the pier and catch a few more reds....not an option. You leave your spot on that pier and FUH-GET-A-BOUT-IT! It was too packed. With the tide moving out now, we decided to hit up SLP....
To sum it up:
The Bulls are still running in full forc. (You can catch them almost anywehre in the park). They were hitting cut bait, and whole shad.
The Flounder are starting to get a little larger, but nothing to really get excited about yet. Although, with the new restrictions on flounder fishing, I am finding it easier to "limit out" on em. haha. The were hitting live mullet and gulp 4" mullet. I just double rig and live mullet and a gulp mullet or pogy or shrimp behind a 3/4oz egg sinker and just ddrag it across the bottom.

Petty tough to fish, considering the construction that's going on and the water level being up so high makes it difficult. We did okay. We ran into some reds and black drum. The water was kinda murky and dirty looking. Maybe this coming weekend it will be better there.

Got the alarm set for 6am, car packed and ready, should be on the dock by 730.
Game plan: sabiki rigs to get a couple of sand trout, cut up the sand trout and break out the big rig. Hope I have the same kind of luck the OP had.
If my thread on Bob Hall looks good, will head that way on Thursday, maybe spend the night, who knows? If I can't get anything solid on Bob Hall, will head out to Rollover Pass first thing Thursday morning.

Speaking of Redbull I do like a Redbull and vodka !! I gave up drinking plain Redbull though a long time ago. But I still like a Redbull and vodka, heh heh.
But that is a nice fish, wish I could head down there and catch one of those bull reds on the flyrod.

gluck out there tumbleweed. You'll do well. Just make sure you bring plenty of cut bait or whole shad, big 7/0 or bigger circle hooks, and a camera

What is SLP? I went to Sea Wolf park last Saturday morning(11/14) but didn't have as much luck as the OP had. Of course i did run into a few idiots that he had mention. Fished with chopped up shad and live mullet. Just landed a few sand trout while the guys next to me pulled in a few bull reds. I got tired of this one dude bc he kept fishing right next to me and crossing everyone's line every cast. Then he would throw the cast net right next to everyone. Not to mention the damn cast net looked like a bird's nest when he through it in. Since i wasn't catching anything i went to the pier to give it a shot before i threw that dude in the water. Didn't have any luck on the pier.
Im going to try and go out there this Saturday and wade fish. There was a lot of guys wade fishing. Anyone know what they are catching and what bait is good out there?
FYI- I got checked by the Game Warden twice. Once leaving Sea Wolf park and another leaving the Jetties.

The guys wading are catching flounder. Tis the season to be catching jolly old fat flounder! SLP is San Louis Pass.

I caught him where everyone catches flounder, behind the submarine and next to the battleship. I just casted it out about 100+ yards with whole mullet and caught him. I chummed the water alot first though just to get the bulls to come into that area.
