Got plenty of bites, grrrrrrrr, couldn't hook anything except one but it was around 15ish lbs being conservative. I did have a rod drug in the lake though I still lost the fish on a circle hook grrrrrr again.

you dont need all that just use a small piece of a strand off a plastic bristled broom . or a small wire like a paper clip or a bread twistie . look on youtube "carp rigs" or "hair rig " they are alot simpler than it seems . it takes a little practice but you will learn in no time .braid makes it easy to tie if you have some

I am trying to get the wife to go to Purtis creek Tommorrow maybe you could join us. It is a very pretty lake and full of grassers although I will probably be bass fishing with the wife and kiddo. Those are her favorites at least untill she ties into a big ole carp. But she has a ten pound bass under her belt so I dunno.

hey bart i sent you 3 hair rigs with different type hooks ,improvised bait needle and bait stoppers so you can give it a try .one of the rigs has maize on it so you can see how i do it . make sure you have your drag loose or be very close to your rods because they will take them in a spit second . goodluck man .

Thanks a bunch I learned how to tie a hair rig I think I have it right and stole my wifes crochett needle to rig it I even made a small bach of boilies I hope I did them right. The carp at Joe Pool loved em I went for an hour while the daughter and wife were napping caught 3 then got a call to start my new job grrrr. lol but they seemed to work. BTW I used flour, powdered rice, wheat powder, evaporated milk, anis oil, 4 eggs, and vanilla extract on the boilies they seemed to work really well PM me if you want the exact recipe.

the only issue was I think the needle is way too big. it too a quarter of a toothpick to hold the boilie on. also are boilies supposed to float?

pop ups float, but not normal bottom bait boilies. did you microwave them? if you did that is why they float. Most recipes call for 2 or 3 minutes of boiling then air dry for 24hours

Cool mine are good but they float I boiled them for around 5 minutes or so. I bet it is just the stuff I used.
