"Little Country" should arrive tomorrow!
Well this has been an exciting and hectic month already! We still have not got moved into the new place in Wills Point yet and had really hoped to be in before the baby arrived, but the doctor said tomorrow is the day. We are going to the hospital this afternoon and the doctor will be inducing labor early tomorrow morning. Hopefully it will all go smoothly! We already know it will be a boy, so I will have to stock the boat with cigars to pass out on the lake this weekend. (Redfin will have to give me some cigar buying advice, and remember I'm not rich buddy

)
As far as the fishing is concerned......Book A Trip and help me pay for this kid!

haha
Tawakoni has been up and down the past week, literally. We were about 3 feet high this time last week and now we are getting down close to lake level. The bright skies and full moon really made for some tough fishing in the mornings early last week, so I switched some trips around and tried the afternoons with pretty good success. The cloud cover over the weekend really gave the fish a shot of energy and the fishing was pretty good mornings and evenings.
The sand bass fishing has been really good over the past few weeks and can be found on most any steep drop off you find. Points and humps both alike are holding fish in anywhere from 20-30 feet. The better ones to look for are the ones that have a really fast drop off. They are holding fish all day. The slab of choice lately has been the Fiesta de Plata from
www.moestackleshop.com . Seems like the white/halographic is getting a lot more bites lately.
The big striper and hybrid have been out in the same areas but a little deeper. Try casting a 4-5 inch sassy shad on a 1ounce jighead off the drops and slow rolling it on the bottom. If they are there it has been the best way to put a limit in the boat. The green glitter from Moe's has been the best color lately. And of coarse, if you see a buncha birds swarming the water put the silver Shanghai Shad in amongst them and hang on

I had the pleasure of fishing with PaulinGrapevine's dad and his buddy this week. We never got into any keeper hybrid that day, but we did catch some fish. Couldn't ask for nice folks to fish with. Late in the day we finally got into some schooling fish and Bud had a chance to show me his fly fishing digs. What a fun experience! That fly fishing is art in motion. Good to see hamster and bal4 out there catching them too. Sorry I didn't know it was ya'll till I saw the post.
Last night I made a run out to Twak with "Pop Country" and "Lil Country #1 and #2"

Couldn't resist 1 more quick trip to the lake before #3 gets here. Besides, the Cowboys weren't kicking off til 7:15

Anyway we found them suspended out off a deep point right off the bat and I got Kaci to using a baitcaster for the first time. She's only 8, but did great! Blake is already a pro and picks out all my backlashes for me

Late in the day they even schooled up on us and made for a great afternoon. I never caught a fish yesterday, just ran the trolling motor and swung the net. I swear, there is nothing in life that compares to watching a youngun pull in a good fish. Kaci had her best hybrid ever last night and if you were on the water you probably heard her

Kaci with her Monster, the biggun of the day!

Blake and a fun one!

We even let 'ol Pop reel a few in!

If all goes well I'll be back on the water Thursday through Saturday. Wish us luck and have fun out there!
