Anyone go out this past weekend to the floaters? I'm headed out on a 36hr tuna run with Dolphin Docks Saturday AM.

Floater fishing for tuna was excellent this past weekend. Seas were a little rough around 8 feet, but plenty of big yellowfins. Good luck on your trip.

Thanks for the feedback mrbill. I've been watching the offshore weather report and so far it looks like 3-4 feet seas. I'll make sure I post some photos after the weekend.

Just ran across this yesterday - Osprey fishing trips out of South Padre runs 12 hr tuna trips on Wed and Fri. Looking over their catches, it appears that they average 2-4 blackfin per person, but that doesn't seem bad for a partyboat day trip.

At least, it's worthwhile if you're gonna be down there anyways.
