I have replaced 2 tiles on our fireplace at home and now I need to do the grout. I have never done this and could use a little advice. It is probably only about 40 inches of grout between the tiles. It is on the edge and the down side. How would you do these?

The hardest part will be matching the color. They make a premixed grout that is easy to use or you can buy the powder and mix it per the instructions. Force it into the joint with a rubber float. Gently wipe excess with a sponge. Let it dry some and keep cleaning it with the sponge until it is dry.

Keep your trial (sp) and sponge at a 45* angle in respect to the grout line. This will prevent valley looking grout lines and avoids chipping of the edges of the tile...

Grouts the easiest part of it... But do it quickly after u mix it all...

The toughest part is keeping it clean!! I HATE light grout... Never again will I do grout, possibly tile!!

go to depot or lowes, if they have "sanded grout caulk" try match color, it comes like regular caulk, but made for this purpose. U will not match color exactly only get close. I those stores do not have it, check to see if there is tile outlet store
or a Daltile store. good luck
