Here is the intro for the Bass Section, and if I can get you guys and gals to email me picks I will make a intro for this section (mrbass24@att.net) Also if you would like to have your product reviewed on "Around The Forum" let me know. Or if you just want to go out and fish and let me video you for one of these are the other articles let me know.
This week I have the pleasure of getting to show video's of two really good friends, John Varner and Kevin Stevens.
As you watch the video's, it will seem as if John covered everything and you could attack any lake with the info he gave and have great success.
Well, you can and probably will, but there is about 10X more info you learn when in the boat with John.
Most of my trips I take, I don't fish much but John twisted my arm, that's why there are only a few video's
Here we are starting out, Super Duck was kind enough to let us use his boat and all that great extra tackle...I wonder if it was all there when we left
Look at the 1:23 mark you will see John look High and Left. We see the biggest comment I have ever seen. If you look right over Kevin's hat when i turn you can see the last of it.
View from the start of the day
We get on the first spot and start casting moving lures to try and catch some Hybrids. Keven sticks the first 2 and the John gets a few and then I catch 1...yep 1, I have never been got on to as much as John got on to me that day fishing. I guess you have to fish for Hybrids different from Bass..LOL
The one time I listened this happened
In the pick you will see one of my Bass Secrets...one of Moe's swim baits on one of my Bass Swim Jigs.
I really hope bass fisherman don't figure out what you Sand Bass/ Hybrid fisherman have already found out. How well Moe's Tackle
Doesn't take John long to put us on a great Sand Bass Bite, this video will show just a few of the MANY we caught.
In this video, John and I are talking when we look back and see Kevin with a Sand Bass...well wait that's to big of a splash for a Sandie...Hmmmm
Hey Kevin...Don't Grab The Line
But this is the results of that cast
We move around the lake fishing areas like where we had been catching Sandies and that got me thinking??
Well, we had a blast and I can't thank John enough for helping me get some video's.
Everytime I get in the boat with you, I learn a lot more about structure fishing and graph reading.
Also thank's to Moe's Tackle, for there support on "Around The Forum" and all he does for the fishing community.
Here are a few more pictures from the trip.
Oh yeah, the WINNER of last weeks "Around The Forum" product review giveaway is...................Drum Roll ....................BASS WOLFE
Casey, thanks for the video It is nice for us whitebass guys to get a little publicity Fishing was pretty good Friday morning on the whites and smaller hybrids… we did catch a few legal but nothing huge. We tried a few new spots since the regulars are getting a little crowded, I guess word of mouth spreads very quick Found fish shallow to start off with on the east shore and then worked the flats with birds. The good thing is that when the birds stopped the fish stayed… that is a good sign The windier days are producing better and the whites are starting their fall feeding. Caught some nice 13-14 inches mixed with a few smaller. It will only get better …. We started early with swim baits, CO-HO’S and smacks from MOE’S then slabs produced better on the flats for some reason.
Casey those are great videos, and great info. John is the man on Hubbard and Superducks boat is really a sweet ride. Looks like you guys had a great time!!!!
