Going to the vine tomorrow AM... plan on catching some shad and then looking for the blues...

What depth are they right now? I haven't had much luck with the winter blues but I want to learn.. I actually got skunked the last time I went out ( first time! ugh!)

Are they up NW or down south ? how deep? how far out?

I'm fishing from my rickety little boat.

I haven't fished the Vine for kittys yet this year but I usually have pretty good luck up in the Marshall/Denton creek area in the shallow, flooded timber. Good luck to ya. thumb

I'd try and get some shad tonight and save the good early morning hours for fishing instead of throwing the net.

I'm curious to know how you did. I was only out there about 2 hours yesterday mid-morning but didn't have any luck although there were plenty of fish on my fish finder.

NOt a thing... second time EVER being skunked on GV.

The water was ~68 degrees.... I just cant seem to figure out the fall/winter months.

In the spring I haul them in one after another.

I am heading out at 5am tomorrow to try an earlier start.

Would still appreciate tips!

main Q is are they deep or shallow? I will probably put out a few jugs to help find these kitties.

As noted above I didn't catch any of them but just about all the fish on my finder were between 25-35 ft.
