We had 22 teams show up for our kick off tournament on Tawakoni. Day started out overcast and 54 with winds out of the south at 6-10mph. Few teams that I spoke with were on solid 5-10 pounders early and looking for cull fish and the kicker. Received a call from one of our anglers who had a misfortunate accident when he fell into the lake. I met him over at the Fish-N-Store to weigh-in his fish so he can get home and into warm dry clothes. Anglers started showing up for weigh-in at 2:15 with their fish. Ended the day with 575.64 lbs ran across the scales.

1st place was the team of Don Davis & Scott McKnight that took home $440 with a stringer of 108 lbs.

2nd was Jason Moore & Mike Burnett with 65.10 lbs and took home $220

Lamar Evans can in 3rd with 62.10 lbs and $132 for his efforts

Brad Pauling & Jeremy Gatlin came to the scales with 40.40 lbs and received $88

5th- Jered & Dusty Mounger each received a Pro Angler Tackle Doug "Tex" Elliot signature series rod

6th- Erich Wilson & James Olsen received a Joy Fish cast net from justcastnets.com

7th- Doug Elliot & Chase Gibson received a box of 2oz no roll weights from Weights By Chase

8th- Greg Paver & Cody King received a box of 2oz no roll weights from Weights By Chase

9th- Mickey Petree & Steve Nelson received 15 of 6/0, 7/0 and 8/0 Pro Angler Circle Hooks and floats

The big fish was a close race this tournament less that 1/2 of an ounce was the difference.

Big fish- Don Davis and Scott McKnight 52.20 lbs took home $220

Big fish 52 lbs I bet that was fun

Well I enjoyed myself until I pulled the big 200#er out of the lake . Unfortunately I wasn't able to weigh it in . Thanks for not mentioning my name and meeting me at the Fish-N-Store. I feel like I made a big splash on T-Wok today. I look forward to the next one. Glad you guys held the tourney and I got to put some faces with screen names. BTW I was thankful for the PFD rule because it really came in handy. I highly recommend carrying a complete change of clothes, shoes, and socks when fishing, especially in colder weather.

Did that a while back myself, just don't let anyone on the forum know it happened to ya, it's been 2 or 3 months and they are finaly letting up on me!!!

Wow, two guys in one day, there was another guy that went all out too Bamaboy. Some people are more motivated than I am, I'm just not willing to go in after the big cats yet but if thats what it takes I might come around when the water warms back up. The guys that saw it happen gave you a 9.5 score, great form , I think you scored high due to the degree of difficulty in getting back in the boat. You would have surely scored a 10 had it not been for the full 2 minute rant of four letter words. I may need you to school me on your technique.

I told bama that I thought in was a little too cold for noodleing but he said he never listens to and old fa** like me . I have got too get in touch with him to see how he did on the noodleing.

I didn't want everyone to know I was noodling Johnny, thanks alot. I was expecting some $'s after the free show I put on changing into my friends gortex suit on the lake. I guess they didn't offer any money since I didn't have a g-string to put it in.

Glad you're alright Bama! Did that once myself a few years back at RayBob in February. Even a change of clothes on the boat wouldn't have warmed me up after that dunk. Thank you for doing it after you left the area we were fishing. I would have felt bad for laughing

I can laugh now but not yesterday.
Yeah, it was immediately after we left you guys. We were trying to tie up to some trees, we had one lassoed, and I was holding onto the other, realized I didn't have a rope, looked back to ask for a rope and turned to see me slipping away from the tree. I realized what was about to happen and pushed the tree trying to push myself straight up and instead it pushed the boat out from under me . Next thing I know I'm seeing green and freezing . I was so glad I had the boarding ladder on the back of the boat because I don't think the both of us could have pulled my fata$$ back into the boat. What really scared me was my heart was fluttering kinda. Luckily it was a short swim to the boat. I've still got the stuff outta my wallet drying . I'm just glad that the first thing I do when I get on my boat is take off my cellphone and truck keys and put them on the console. And thank the Lord that there wasn't a stump where I fell.

And Bama, since I fell out of the boat, I wear my lifejacket when I am fishing by myself, it's not that bad, and they might be saying "look at that goofey looking guy with the lifejacket on" but I havn't heard them, and really don't care!!!

Bama, good to see ya, sorry ya had to get out of there so quick but glad everything was ok.

You could say I learned a lesson. Next time I'll have some dry clothes and socks and hopefully never need them. I've always used a PFD when alone but from now on I'll definitely have it on in any cold weather.

Chase4- Thanks for giving me that box of weights! I carolina rig and use 2 ounces all the time. They were just perfect for me and my partner. I think my partner lost 13+ weights this past weekend in all those flooded willow trees. Thanks again and see you at the next tournament hopefully.
