Pipe insulation is one way. Split it down the center and the the length of a plastic tackle box compartment with the dividers removed, then you can hold them all still with the hook and easy to see what you have.

I just put mine 5 to a pack in the plastic and put it in loose in my tackle box. I'm messy and it'll just get messed up if I try to do it neater.

I just normally store my jigs on the bottom of the nearest brush pile – but to help out on that I put a number 3# split shot about 6 inches above that jig/bait – to help get out of just that.

If you do get hung up (which you should fishing Crappie - just let that small weight work for you - slowly up and down – what I call Jig it Out), and then once out – hold it right there – an inche from what you just got hung up on, you worked hard to find that spot to get hung up – once out – hold it close to just that and THUMP – you got it.

As to storing Jigs – I don’t know (I've never had a really good jig long enough to know how to store it) – If I do have a jig that hangs around long enough to be concerned on how to store it – it most likely is not a good jig anyhow.

All that was a lot of help on your question, wasn't it!!! Some folks use a CD case. I saw a small zipper bag the other day at academy that has mini zip locks in it that would be good too, or for anything else. What ever trips you trigger. However, the brushpile is still the best idea, keep it wet.

They're just having a little fun, and that's what its all about anyway, isn't it? LOL. I lose my share in the brush too.

I posted this same question on some other boards just to get varied ideas. The best I've seen was using old VHS cases and foam from a noodle to secure the jigs. Looked neat and professional.

Anyone that's been in my boat can tell you. In a pile in the corner within reach of the front seat. Lucky for me that rust color is good most of the time. rolfmao (sad but true)

Buy packs of inexpensive 1 inch square magnets. I believe Harbor Freight and Northern Equipment sells them in packs of 20. Put one in each compartment of a plastic tray. Put several jigs on top of each magnet. When fishing, take out the magnets with the jigs attached that you want and throw on the deck by your seat. When needed, pull one off the magnet. Jigs over 1/8 oz sometimes fall off the magnets. When the fishing day is over, put the magnets with jigs attached back in the plastic tray.
